Selecting a cash back credit card depends on your spending habits and what kind of rewards program is most attractive to you. Rotating-category cards provide 5% earnings boost on certain purchase categories that rotate every quarter; fixed-category cards provide a set percentage cash back on all purchases; some issuers offer both types – like Chase’s Blue Cash Everyday Card which offers 3% cash back on grocery store and gas purchases and 1% back for other spending.
Once you’ve earned some cash back, once it has been earned it can be redeemed in exchange for statement credits that reduce your balance or gift cards or cash rewards. Your options for redeeming will depend on which card issuer offers it – for instance some may permit cashback to be transferred directly into your bank account, savings/investment account or sent as a check from them.
