Buttercloth’s Fashion Designer Danh Tran wants to raise $250,000 in exchange for 10% ownership in his company and has brought along his business partner Gary Falkenberg and former NBA star Metta World Peace to help out as well.
“Buttercloth” fabric provides an innovative solution that makes their dress shirts soft, stretchy, and breathable – similar to how cotton feels on its skin – making the shirts feel “Like Friday night, but look like Sunday morning”. Kevin thinks their prices are too high and pulls out, Mark believes more money needs to be allocated towards marketing, Lori fears it would compete with some of her lines so withdraws too and Charles finds the idea too risky so he too withdraws his interest.
Robert Herjavec sees potential and offers to invest $250,000 for 25% of Buttercloth. Tran was delighted and enthusiastically accepted his offer; he’d long wanted to become a designer since childhood; having cashed in his 401K and sold his home, his appearance on Shark Tank caused a huge sales boost with Buttercloth now doing over $500,000 per month!
